Livingston Parish Public Schools has acquired a new online education center and course library designed to expand and enhance its technology education course offerings.  This online center not only provides courses that can help teachers succeed on the job and in their personal lives, but also lets them take these courses on their own schedules at their convenience.

 At the end of May, June and July there will technology equipment as prizes for teachers who complete the most courses or the most hours of training. Schools with the most active participants will also receive technology equipment.

These award-winning courses feature complete audio narration, engaging graphics, animated tips, video clips, real-world examples, hands-on simulations, and reinforcement exercises—all designed to aid in learning and retention. Best of all, these courses are available to anyone with a desire to learn.

The courses, which are self-paced and self-directed, allow students to advance through the material at their own speed and from the comfort of their own computers, using an Internet connection. Learners can print their own certificates or participate in prescriptive courses  that allow the  to take a pretest that assess their knowledge and then begin the course at their own level. At the completion of the prescriptive course their is a post test. This will save experienced learners the time and boredom of starting a course at a beginning level.
