Livingston Parish Public Schools
Department of Child Nutrition
We're Raising the Bar on Student Nutrition
Livingston Parish Public Schools participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. The Child Nutrition Program serves nutritious, appetizing and affordable meals to LPPS students.
Last school year, the Child Nutrition Department implemented new programs such as Breakfast on the Go, Breakfast in the Classroom and Second Chance Breakfast. Implementation of these new programs increased breakfast participation by 46%. LPPS Child Nutrition served 2 Million breakfast meals and over 3.3 Million lunches were served in our District last school year.
The success of these programs have been featured on WBRZ's Tune In, The Advocate and the Livingston Parish News. We also gained national recognition through Partners for Breakfast in Classroom, the School Nutrition Foundation and the National Educators Association.
In addition to the new breakfast programs, our District has expanded to provide a summer program, after school at-risk meals and after school snacks.
Our menus are designed to meet the USDA regulations and offer a variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, low fat or reduced fat entrées, and low fat or fat free milk choices.
Please check the menu section of our website for the latest menu.
