District Strategies

School Strategies

Develop and implement a 3 year technology plan that reflects needs of the 21st century to equip all districts/schools with technology necessary to support the teaching and learning process and instructional management needs

School Technology Plan that is reviewed once a year by Technology Committee

Develop and maintain staff to support the technical infrastructure. Add a LAN Manager to reduce the number of schools per LAN Manger.

Implement a plan to maintain an adequate network by grading network servers, switches, routers and other network components on a 5 year cycle.

Seek partners for funding/support for technology implementation

(School Level- Address- Grant Writing, Fund Raisers for technology Purchases)

Aggressively seek grant funds to purchase software and/or  hardware

Meet with schools to disseminate their Acceptable Use Policy and explain how it should be implemented
(School Level - How you are disseminating and implementing Acceptable Use for Students and Teachers)

Disseminate Acceptable Use Policy through Student Handbooks to parents each school year.

Promote understanding of  Acceptable Use Policies through discussions with students and employees each year

Pursue or create courses to develop students as resources for technology support- Continue High school Internship program which also helps provide technical support.

(School Level - if applicable)

Continue High school Internship program which also helps provide technical support.

Allocate local funds and resources for educational technology

(School Level - use of local /Title I / EEF funds for purchase of software of equipment

Prudently use a combination of Title I funds (if available), grant funds, and local funds to purchase software and hardware

Provide ample model classrooms to meet the needs of students, pre-service and inservice teachers

Provide, support, and facilitate electronic communication via Blackboard throughout the district so that teachers, administrators, board members, and special groups are able to utilize e-mail fully.
