The current procedures for
Technology Coordinators are as follows:
Email problems/issues to the
helpdesk@lpsb.org.anytime day or night.
Call
the Helpdesk at 686.4329 from: 7:30-3:30 Monday-Friday When
reporting problems please be sure to include basic information such as:

Have you attempted to reboot the PC to correct the issue?
-
What school you are calling from?
-
What is the
LPSB/Dell ID # on the computer you are calling about?
-
What is the
Teacher’s or Person’s name and room # where the computer is located?
-
What is the problem and or error message?
Some Basic TIPS to remember:
Be sure the computer
you are calling about has the
firewall turned off, the computer has automatic updates turned on and the virus
protection is up to date
Have the
ip address of the computer
available All
problems funnel through your Technology
Coordinator to cut down on incoming calls. If your
technology coordinator cannot resolve the issues, they will call the Helpdesk to
create a problem ticket and receive a problem ticket #. A Technician will be
sent to your school to resolve the issue.
Report the problem as
soon as possible, do not wait until you have a long list.
BE PATIENT, ALL PROBLEM TICKETS WILL BE
ADDRESSED AS
QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!!
DO NOT
email and call in the same issue.
DO NOT
email or call in issues to Technology Director, Sandra Brewer or her
secretary, Susan McDonald unless you have worked the problem through the
HELPDesk with unsatisfactory results. This will only slow up our
process in
getting your problem resolved. |
