How to Use Internet Explorer to Transfer Files

Open Internet Explorer

1. In the Address bar, type the Internet address (URL) for the FTP site you want to connect to. For example: ftp://username.lpsb.org/.   Then hit enter.
2. Type in the username and password that was assigned to your school
    

3. You will see a list of all the files and folders on your web site, this list will be displayed in the Internet Explorer Window.
4. Open your My Computer to the folder where your web pages are stored.
5. Arrange and resize your My Computer window and your Internet Explorer window so both are visible on your desk top

6. Highlight the file you want to transfer in the My Computer window, click copy from the right mouse button menu or from the edit menu.
7. Click in a blank spot in the Internet Explorer window and click paste from the right mouse button menu or from the edit menu.
8. To rename or delete items in an FTP folder, or paste items into an FTP site (upload), you can use the same commands and actions you use with Windows Explorer or My Computer.
