- Set up your computer for “Automatic Updates”

- Never log on under your name and allow students to use the computer. Use
the student log in for your school.

- With Automatic Updates, Windows routinely checks for updates that can
help protect your computer against the latest viruses and other security
threats.
- If your computer is turned off during a scheduled update, updates are
installed the next time you start your computer.

- After you install eTrust the ETrustRealtime Monitor will be scanning for
viruses. The Realtime Monitor icon will display in the system tray when
the software is running, as shown below:
- When a virus is found you will receive a pop-up dialogue box which will
provide the location of the file and what was done with the virus.

- Open Internet Explorer
- Click Tools > Internet Options

- In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Pop-up
Blocker.
- Or click the icon on the tool bar.
- You can always allow pop ups from a site or
- Allow individual pop up windows

- Check to see if you are logged in correctly, re-log in, make sure
“Workstation only” is not checked.
- Make sure you network cable is plugged in to your computer and to the
internet drop in your classroom.
- Go to Internet Explorer, click Tools> Options> Connections>Lan
Settings…
- Make sure no boxes are checked.
- If your computer does not allow this, let the Technology Coordinator at
your school know.
