GRANT PROGRAMS
Livingston Parish Public School System applies for and receives a variety of grants each school year. These grants provide additional funding for educational opportunities for many of our students and teachers.
The state allocated 8(g) funds in several areas that directly impact student learning. For 2004/2005 Livingston Parish Public Schools received a total of $418,325.00 through the 8(g) funds, which included a Block Grant of $54,683.00 and the Preschool/Early Childhood Grant of $332,011.00.
Livingston Parish Public Schools received $1,768,982 in 2004/2005 through State Grants. Below is a listing of an example of some of the State Grants that were received: Education Excellence Grant $658,301.00 LEAP21 Summer Remediation Tutoring $265,682.00 K-3 Reading Initiative $328,201.00 Leap21 Remediation Tutoring $ 69,570.00 Special Education Extended School Year $ 74,000.00
Livingston Parish Public Schools has two programs which are federally funded grants. IDEA $2,964,995.00 Title I $3,023,708.00
Livingston Parish Public Schools received $883,599.00 in 2004/2005 through Federal Grants. Below is listing of an example of some of the Federal Grants that were received: Carl Perkin’s Grant $146,182.00 Adult Education $135,800.00 Pre-School Flow Through $ 88,274.00 LaSig $144,170.00
Other Grants were written by local schools and teachers and were approved for several different types of grants during the 2004-2005 school year. These grants provided funds for programs that directly impacted instruction in the classroom. They could range from $200.00 to $3,000.00. |
