School Exhibit Information

The Livingston Parish Fair will be held during the week of October 1-9, 2011. 

This is a perfect venue to showcase the efforts of our fine educational system in a “fun” setting. 

 

The Livingston Parish Fair Association has provided us with the following events to promote our schools’ role in Livingston Parish life:

  • SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN’S DAY (Children with an IEP)  Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Please note that all games and rides will not be open/operating at this time.

YOUR SCHOOL PATRONS AND STUDENTS ARE EAGER TO SEE AN EXHIBIT FROM YOUR SCHOOL ….LET’S HAVE 100% PARTICIPATION!!

SCHOOL EXHIBIT THEME:  WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE?’

The EXHIBITS will be “placed” on MONDAY OR TUESDAY, Oct. 3-4, 2011 (8 am - 4 pm).                                    

NOTE: Please have exhibits completed by 4pm on Tuesday for public display.

FIRST COME – FIRST SERVED: CORNER AREAS TO BE BY DRAWING

EXHIBIT REMOVAL is Sunday, Oct. 9, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 and Monday, Oct. 10,  8:00 a.m. to noon.

The following regulations will apply:

1 - Each school shall use its own discretion as to the type of exhibit that fits the theme given.

2 - Space will be provided for Industrial Arts, Trades & Industries, Home Economics, 4-H Clubs, Vocational Agriculture, or other school organizations.          

3 - Each school shall be allotted a space 8’ long.  Other dimensions of the exhibit space are diagrammed in the premium catalog. (5’- tall, 30” slanted shelf table-top, 28” apron).  All surface area of the space is covered with ¼” plywood and electricity is available to each space.

4.   All electronics used in an exhibit are the responsibility of each school, not LPFA.  

 

Judging will be on theme, beauty, originality, and student participation.

There will be three (3) divisions of competition - HIGH SCHOOL, MIDDLE SCHOOL, & ELEM. SCHOOL.

Cash prizes in each division will be awarded as follows: 4-H Clubs that display an exhibit will receive:
1st- $100 10 points for participation
2nd  $75 15 points for 3rd Place
3rd- $50 20 points for 2nd Place
4th- $25 30 points for 1st Place

 

It is required to RSVP Donald Gill (686-4253) as to the number and division of exhibits your school will prepare.

It is requested that you complete the form provided and return it to this office by FRIDAY – SEPTEMBER 23, 2011

Spaces will be assigned on a first come-first serve basis. 
There are only 32 exhibit spaces to assign. 
You will be notified which exhibit space(s) you are assigned by signage on the actual space on Monday (10/03/11). 
Drawings will be made as to corner areas available for each division.
