The Livingston Parish Fair will be held during the week of October 9 - 14, 2007.  This is a perfect venue to showcase the efforts of our fine educational system in a “fun” setting.  The Livingston Parish Fair Association has provided us with the following events to promote our schools’ role in Livingston Parish life.

SCHOOL EXHIBIT THEME: 
“Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow – A LOOK AT LIVINGSTON PARISH”
 

The EXHIBITS will be “placed” on MONDAY OR TUESDAY, Oct. 8 - 9, 2007 (8 am - 4 pm).
FIRST COME – FIRST SERVED: CORNER AREAS TO BE BY DRAWING
EXHIBIT REMOVAL should be complete by 5 pm - Monday, Oct. 5, 2007.

The following regulations will apply:

1 - Each school shall use its own discretion as to the type of exhibit that fits the theme given.

2 - Space will be provided for Industrial Arts, Trades & Industries, Home Economics, Vocational Agriculture, or  other school  organizations.

3 - Each school shall be allotted a space 8’ long.  Other dimensions of the exhibit space are diagrammed in the premium catalog. (5’- tall, 30” slanted shelf table-top, 28” apron).  All surface area of the space is covered with ¼” plywood and electricity is available to each space.

Spaces will be assigned on a first come-first serve basis.  There are only 32 exhibit spaces to assign.  You will be notified which exhibit space (s) you are assigned by signage on the actual space on Monday (10/8/07).  Drawings will be made as to corner areas available for each division.

Judging will be on theme, beauty, originality, and student participation.

There will be three (3) divisions of competition -

  1. HIGH SCHOOL

  2. MIDDLE SCHOOL

  3. ELEM. SCHOOL. 

Cash prizes in each division will be awarded as follows:
1st- $100, 2nd - $75, 3rd - $50, & 4th - $25.

It is required to RSVP Donald Gill (686-4253) as to the number and division of exhibits your school will prepare

4-H Clubs who participate in the School Exhibits at the Livingston Parish Fair
can now earn points for their club!!

If your 4-H Club participates in the School Exhibits you will earn 10 points toward the points for Achievement Day. Those clubs that place 1st Place will receive 30 points, 2nd Place - 20 points, and 3rd Place - 15 points.

School Fun Bowl Contest

Thursday, October 11th at 5:OOPM Grades 6th- 8th

Friday, October 12th @ 9:OOAM Kindergarten - 5"' Grade

Grades are divided into THREE DIVISIONS for competition:
Grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.
Each division will receive atrophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.

Lots of fun games for all schools to participate.

Sixth through eighth grades will also compete in an academic bowl.

All schools are invited to participate: More information will be sent to each school in the parish explaining rules and registration information.
